Organizational Development and Management Services

Organizational Development and Management Services ( Homelessness Issues )

The project provides public benefits advocacy for people who live in Los Angeles County. Services are targeted to homeless general relief recipients. Services include class action litigation, group advocacy, legal representation, legislative advocacy, organizational development and management services, system advocacy, and welfare rights assistance. There are no geographic restrictions.

The project provides individual welfare rights assistance to help homeless or indigent adults obtain general relief and CalFresh. The project also provides direct legal services to homeless and at-risk youth and is a resource to service providers working with this population.

Advocacy is provided via a hotline, at DPSS district offices and at the project office. It operates an advocacy project for law student interns through which interns go to DPSS offices to advocate for general relief applicants and recipients.

The project advocates at a system-level which may involve class action litigation and legislative advocacy. It also provides technical assistance to other service providers on issues related to homelessness, general relief and welfare rights assistance. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply for service.
