The agency supports community action groups for newly-arrived refugees and immigrants in Los Angeles County. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to Central American refugees and immigrants. There are no geographic restrictions.
The program provides long term socio-economic development targeted to the Central American and other Latino communities. The program's goal is to improve the well-being of the Central American Community in Los Angeles. The services provided include technical assistance in developing and implementing community-based initiatives for community and economic development.
The agency is conducting legislative advocacy for Central American refugees who are classified as being in the United States under Temporary Protective Status due to the violence and unrest in their native countries. The campaign is to convince the US Congress to pass permanent residency legislation for this group, who have been in the United states under TPS classificaton for 12 years. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information or to apply for service. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
