Provider: VETERANS ADMINISTRATION GREATER LOS ANGELES HEALTHCARE SYSTEM - BAKERSFIELD COMMUNITY BASED OUTPATIENT CLINIC

The center provides mental health services for veterans who have been honorably discharged or released from active military service. Services include inpatient care for both voluntary and involuntary patients; outpatient medication; counseling and day treatment for chronically mentally ill people; and veteran reintegration counseling. The division also provides information about and referral to community resources for people who do not qualify for services at the center and for people who need continuing services. Services are provided at two locations. There are no geographic restrictions. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH American Sign Language, Cantonese, Farsi, French, German, Hebrew, Iliolo, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog and Vietnamese are available at the main site only. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. An appointment is required. Walk- ins will be seen 8:00am to 3:00pm and given an appointment if not an urgent case. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services for low income veterans or for veterans who have service-connected disabilities. Veterans who have a sufficient income or health insurance pay for services according to their ability.
