Personal Alarm Systems

211 LA provides support for the LA Found Initiative program which provides a personal alarm system for eligible disabled and older adults in Los Angeles County. There are no geographic restrictions.
The LA Found Initiative program partners with the Los Angeles County Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS), the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, and Project Lifesaver International to offer tracking bracelets for individuals who are mobile, can wander, and have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's, Dementia and/or Autism. It features a system of trackable bracelets that can be located using receivers carried in L.A. Sheriff's Department helicopters and designated ground units.
While the bracelet is not under constant monitoring, when an individual wearing a bracelet goes missing, caregivers call 9-1-1 and the police agency or sheriff's station will inform the Sheriff's Department Mental Evaluation Team who will deploy receivers to help locate the missing person.
