The agency provides employment services for at risk young adults. ages 18 to 23, and ex-offenders, age 18 and older, in South Los Angeles. Services include a entrepreneurial training, job bank, job search/placement, and prejob guidance services. There are no geographic restrictions.

Young adults are considered "at risk" if they are school dropouts, homeless, have physical or mental disabilities, have gang contacts, a history of substance abuse, contact with the justice system, incarcerated parents, are emanicpated minors (can be younger than 18) or former foster care children.

Ex-Offenders, age 18 and older, are considered eligible if they are on probation or parole, or are unable to find work due to their past record of incarceration.

The program provides a 40 hour training session where participants learn life skills, resume writing, interview skills, and employment retention skills. Upon completion of the training session, graduates are sent to job training in their choice of either automotive repair, customer service, or retail sales. The job interviews for these jobs are set up in advance by the training organization, OIC; see the separate entry.

The agency also provides entrepreneurial training classes, workshops and individual consulting service for people who wish to start a new business. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply.
