Prenatal Care ( Medicaid Recipients )

The center provides hospital services for people of all ages who live in Southeast Los Angeles County. Services include a 24-hour pharmacy, community clinics, crisis intervention for pregnant women, emergency room services, general medical care, health education, a medical information line, a physician referral line, prenatal care, rehabilitation services, psychiatric mobile response teams, senior support services and a twenty-four hour pharmacy. The hospital is a designated Level II Trauma Center. Geographic restrictions apply for some services.

General medical care includes a cancer unit, six outpatient community clinics, a critical care unit, an obstetrics unit with a neonatal intensive care unit and a pediatrics unit. The center also maintains a blood bank, dialysis unit and provides radiation therapy, plastic and reconstructive surgery. Specialized services include outpatient ambulatory care, a cardiopulmonary laboratory, a family life center, a heart center, industrial medicine, an intensive care unit, a nuclear medicine department and a skilled nursing center.

The clinics are also a certified providers of Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), an elective Medi-Cal funded program which provides comprehensive pre-natal care including evaluation, direct medical services; nutrition and health education; psychological counseling and social services if needed. Pregnancy testing, childbirth classes, and special groups for pregnant teens are also provided.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

The psychiatric mobile response team will not respond to a call from a private residence; the call must come from someone in a medical or mental health facility. The potential client must be over 18 years of age, be mobile, and have insurance (Medi-Cal, Medicare, or private insurance). APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply or walk in for emergency services.
