The agency provides health education for agencies, low-income families, and individuals who live in the Los Angeles County. Services include nutrition education through the Adult Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (EFNEP), 4H Youth Expanded Food and Nutrition Program (4-H EFNEP), Food Preservation Education, and Senior Initiative. The educational programs help to advance, integrate, evaluate and communicate knowledge in the areas of nutrition, and food preservation. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Adult Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) and the 4H Youth Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (4H EFNEP) assist limited resource families and youth in obtaining the knowledge, skills, attitudes and change behavior necessary for nutritionally sound diets and to contribute to their development and the improvement of the total family diet and nutritional well-being.

The Food Preservation Education objective is to develop and extend educational information on safe practices for preserving food (canning, freezing and drying).

The Senior Initiative conducts educational programs on nutrition, food safety, fitness and consumer economics including consumer fraud and gardening for seniors. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
