The center provides a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic mental health services for people of all ages who live in the greater San Fernando Valley and West Los Angeles area. The agency combines the disciplines of psychology, psychiatry, and education to provide outpatient and day treatment services.

Outpatient mental health services for individuals and families include adolescent/youth counseling, child abuse counseling; child guidance; day treatment for children; individual, group, and family therapy; parent child interactive therapy; parent education; psychiatric services; psychological testing; psychological case management; and wraparound facilitation/community support.

The types of problems addressed include depression, anxiety, parent-child conflict, life stress, behavioral problems, physical and sexual abuse, suicidal feelings and behavior, school-related problems, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and developmental disabilities.

The agency's special programs include an after-school day rehabilitation program, early screening diagnosis and treatment of children program, foster child and foster family counseling support, an in-home crisis intervention program for youth recently released from psychiatric facilities, a reunification counseling program for abducted and missing children, and a school-based counseling program. Clients are referred by the contracting agencies, which include DCFS, the Department of Mental Health, Healthy Start, Medi-Cal, and TANF.

The Wraparound facilitation/community support program is provided for court-referred youth in probation or in DCFS child abuse or foster care programs. Wraparound is conducted by a multi-displinary team consisting of a social worker case manager, a therapist and a parent "Partner". Sessions are conducted in the home and may involve just the child or the whole family as needed. The program accepts youth from age 8 to 18, and may continue for one year or longer. The service area is L A County SPAs 2 and 5, which emcompasses the San Fernando Valley and the West Side of Los Angeles County. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. An appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Medi-Cal is accepted. In some cases the referring agency like Regional Center, the California State Department of Rehabilitation, the California State Department of Mental Health, the Department of Children and Family Services or local school districts may pay the fee.
