The center provides mental health services for transitional age youth (TAY) age 16 to 25 and adults, age 18 and older, including those who have a dual diagnosis. Services include diagnosis, therapy, case management, Club House socialization, medication management, mental health evaluation, psychiatric case management, programs for homeless mentally ill adults and young adults and Wellness Center. Mental illness must be the primary problem for dually-diagnosed clients. Services are restricted to people who are 16 years of age and older, who have Medi-Cal. Individuals without Med-Cal will be served depending on availability of funds or if qualified for the Mental Health Services Act specialty program at Hillview with openings for indigent individuals. The service area is restricted to Arleta, Pacioma, Sunland and Tujunga and the surrounding communities.

Outpatient services are designed for severely and chronically mentally ill adults whose psychiatric or emotional difficulties can be treated by a mental health professional and/or case management and medication monitoring. Services include assessment; evaluation and treatment planning; individual, conjoint, family and group treatment; case management; medication management; and, Crisis Intervention.

The program provides specialized transitional services for emancipated mentally-ill young adults, age 18 through 21, who are eligible for Medi-Cal.

The Wellness Center provides a mental health drop-in center that provides peer counseling; facilitated support groups led by paraprofessionals; psychatric services including short term individual counseling, psychiatric medication monitoring, and case managment; and socialization services for mentally ill adults. People may come to the program to spend time and to participate in mental health, social and recreational activities. It is a non-structured program in a protected setting. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information about agency services, to arrange an appointment, or to apply for specialized services. An intake appointment is required for psychiatric services. A referral is not required; people may self-refer. Extended wait times may apply for new patients. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Medi-Cal, Medi-Cal Expansion and Medicare are accepted. Some health plans associated with insurance coverage may be excepted, call to verify insurance. Sliding scale fees are available for non-insured individuals.
