The agency provides outpatient mental health evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, support, crisis intervention, and case management services for adults age 18 and older who live in the Central Health District which includes Hollywood, West Hollywood, Echo Park, and parts of the central Los Angeles area. The target population of the agency is acutely and/or chronically mentally ill adults.

The services provided for adults who are chronically mentally ill and/or experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis include evaluation for medication and for voluntary or involuntary hospitalization; on-site crisis evaluation and intervention; therapy and medication supervision; case management and socialization for established clients; and supportive self-help programs including Project Return to assist clients to integrate into the community. The center also provides HIV mental health services for persons with HIV disease and their families. Services include education, consultation and individual, group and family treatment for mental health problems related to the disease.

Counseling, case management, and supportive services are also provided for adults who have been discharged from state, county, and county-contract psychiatric hospitals to help them make the transition back to the community and prevent rehospitalization. People whose primary problem is drug or alcohol abuse are not accepted for treatment; however, special programs for dually diagnosed include a 24 hour support line, education and therapy program. The psychiatric rehabilitation program for established clients offers a structured setting and supervised rehabilitative activities during the week. Transportation is not provided.

The agency also provides an MHSA funded Wellness Center to provide services and support to mental health clients who are in recovery and no longer need intensive mental health services. The Wellness Center provides self-help mental health support groups; peer to peer support groups; social/recreational activities; medication evaluation and support services; employment and education services, and integrated services and support for co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse. A referral is required from the Hollywood Mental Health center, or other DMH facility.

In addition the centers provide physical health screenings, and assistance with referrals to health care providers. The program also provides healthy living and health management education. Referrals are given for, housing possibilities, benefit maintenance and short term or crisis mental health services.

The Veterans And Loved Ones Recovery (VALOR) program provides veteran reintegration counseling and support for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) for veterans and their immediate families and dependents. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are on a sliding scale; Medi-Cal and private insurance are accepted.
