Recreational Activities/Sports ( Older Adults, Korean Community )

This center provides recreational and social activities, for adults age 55 and older, and for children, ages 5 through 13, who live in central Los Angeles. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to the Korean community. Services include extended day care, college/university entrance examination preparation, language instruction, recreational activities/sports, and summer school programs. There are no geographic restrictions.

Services for older adults include recreational and social activities include monthly social breakfasts, monthly birthday lunches, occasional field trips, guest speakers, travel films, bingo games, and coupon clipping parties. Many of the activities for older adults are provided at the Senior Citizens Center at Silvercrest Apartment. See the site list for details.

The center provides Korean language classes for non-Korean-speaking adults one day per week.

The center sponsors a summer school for children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Academic and recreational activities are provided. During the school year, a Learning Center is available to provide school support and SAT preparation. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for most services. Fixed fees apply for academic services; call for information.
