The agency provides a wide variety of recreational programs for people of all ages at a number of locations in West Covina. There are no geographic restrictions.
Activities are available for both youth and adults; some are specifically designed for people who have physical or developmental disabilities. The activities provided for youth include basketball; hockey; volleyball; karate; tumbling; gymnastics; ballet, tap, and jazz dance classes; and arts and crafts; as well as cheerleading clinics, teen dances, summer day camp for age 6 to 12, and trips. The activities for adults include aerobics, ballroom and square dancing, karate and volleyball. Swimming classes and recreational swimming are available for people of all ages at the West Covina Municipal Pool. The department also plans and coordinates holiday celebration activities and can arrange for meeting room rental in local facilities for community groups. Most activities are offered at the Cameron Park Community Center, Shadow Oak Center, or the Palm View Center. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in for information or for a brochure which lists a schedule of activities. People may also contact the department for information about meeting space rental. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE The fees for activities vary; non-residents pay additional fees.
