Residential Drug Use Disorder Treatment Facilities ( Ex-Offenders )

The agency provides residential treatment for substance use disorders for adults, age 18 and older, including people who have been dually diagnosed, have HIV or ex-offenders released under AB109, in Los Angeles County. Service includes residential alcohol use disorder treatment facilities and residential drug use disorder treatment facilities. There are no geographic restrictions.

The program consists of four phases of treatment varying from 30 to 180 days. Residents are expected to attend program services five days a week, eight hours a day and have an average length of stay of 12 months. The program provides mental health counseling, comprehensive case management, drug/alcohol testing, educational/vocational services, child development and parenting services, health education, relapse prevention and referrals to additional substance use disorder and mental health treatment programs at Shields and other community-based agencies.

The agency operates under the umbrella of Shields for Families, Inc. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in to apply. Referrals from overcrowded prisons are accepted. People who are AB109 can also walk in to apply at the intake office. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees for service.
