Residential Energy/Water Conservation Systems/Devices ( Low Income )

The agency provides home improvement services for low-income families who own their own home in Los Angeles county. Services include energy conservation and residential energy/water conservation devices through the installation of solar panels. Income restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.
To be eligible families must own and reside in their own home and have a total household income of 80% or less of the area median income.
In addition:
Southern California Edison customers must also live in a residence defined as "affordable housing" under California Public Utilities Code 2852.
Department of Water and Power (DWP) customers must also live within a "disadvantaged community" identified by the California Environment Protection Agency (Cal/EPA); based on geographic, socioeconomic, public health and environmental hazard criteria. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or visit the website to determine program eligibility. Call or walk in to apply; an appointment is preferred and may be required. ID, proof of income and residence and a recent utility bill showing annual electrical usage are required. Accepted documents include mortgage or property tax bill and last year's 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ or tax exempt IRS form. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
