Provider: ANTELOPE VALLEY TRANSIT AUTHORITY

The agency provides transportation services and paratransit for people who live in the Antelope Valley, the northern portion of Los Angeles County, including the cities of Lake Los Angeles, Lancaster and Palmdale. Services include disability related transportation, general paratransit/community ride program that services Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley, local bus services and senior ride program for the elderly. The service area includes zip codes 91350, 93243, 93510, 93532, 93534, 93535, 93536, 93539, 93543, 93544, 93550, 93551, 93552, 93553.

Local Transit buses operate on fixed routes in Palmdale, Lake Los Angeles, Lancaster, Quartz Hill and Little Rock . The agency provides a designated telephone number for route and schedule information and transportation services information.

Commuter buses carry people via three separate routes to Los Angeles, West Los Angeles,and the San Fernando Valley.

Dial-A-Ride services are provided for the general public who live in rural areas; for older adults, age 65 and older; and for people who have disabilities. Dial-A-Ride services are available seven days per week in urban areas. The service area is divided into three zones, the Urban Zone, Rural Zone 1 and Rural Zone 2. Group rates apply to 3 or more individuals traveling to the same destination. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information, or to schedule paratransit pick-up; walk in to purchase monthly passes. The Transit Authority issues a photo ID card for all disabled passengers and senior passengers. Two-day advance notice is recommended for Dial-A-Ride services but same-day services can be available; there is a limit of three one-way trips per day. $3.00 one way; $1.50 one way for groups

Rural Zone 1:

$3.50 one way; $1.75 one way for groups

Rural Zone 2:

$6.00 one way; $3.00 one way for groups
