Senior Ride Programs

Provider: PALOS VERDES PENINSULA TRANSIT AUTHORITY

The program provides transportation for older adults 62 years and older and people with disabilities who live in Palos Verdes Estates, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Rolling Hills Estates. Service include a community dial-a-ride program and seven fixed bus routes. Dial-a-ride services are restricted to Palos Verdes Peninsula residents.

Dial-a-Ride services are restricted to the Palos Verdes peninsula and to medical appointments in the following areas: Torrance, Harbor City, San Pedro, Lomita, and Redondo Beach. Riders must be registered to use the service. A swipe card will be issues to qualified applicants. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Visit the Palos Verdes Transit office at 38 Crest Road West, Rolling Hills or mail application to P.O. Box 2356 Palos Verdes Peninsula. Proof of residence, age, and disability are required. Call for more information. Trips can be purchased at the transit office or by mail.

Call to schedule a trip. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE The program charges $6 each way on the Peninsula and $12 each way off the Peninsula for medical appointments. There is a $10 application fee. Caregivers who accompany a senior can ride for free. The fixed bus route charges $2.50, however, members who show their membership card can ride the bus for free.

Service hours
Program hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 5:00pm on fixed routes. Dial-A-Ride operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Wheelchair service is available Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 6:00pm.
