Sexual Assault Prevention

Provider: NORTHRIDGE HOSPITAL MEDICAL CENTER

The Center for Assault Treatment Services (CATS) program provides sexual assault services for people of all ages, including those who are undocumented, in Los Angeles County. Services include medical examinations and treatment and prevention and outreach. There are no geographic restrictions.

Treatment includes forensic medical examinations and assistance by specially trained nurse examiners. Advocates provide support and assist clients with reporting the crime to children's services or to the police department. On-site case management, counseling, and referrals for additional treatment are provided for clients and family members through a collaboration with a local crisis counseling program.

Staff provide presentations and literature to individuals, community groups, offices, schools and mandated reporters to help prevent sexual assault. The program also provides an on-line self guided training module for Mandated Reporters. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information; a referral from a law enforcement agency is required.
