Special Education

The program provides education programs for parents of children, from birth to age 22, who have special education needs for physical and developmental disabilities. A special education plan is mutually devised with the family after the child's needs are evaluated by appropriate specialists. The plan may include special classes or services on a part-time or full-time basis to meet the child's needs. The program serves Castaic, Newhall, Santa Clarita Valley, Saugus, Sulphur Springs and William S. Hart Unified School Districts. Geographic restrictions apply.
The program administers special education programs within the local planning area and the school districts provide the direct services for families. APPLICATION PROCEDURE A child may be referred by a school, family, or community agency. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.
