The centers located throughout the Los Angeles Unified School District provide a variety of early childhood education services for children ages two through five who live in the district. Services include extended day care, preschools, school based pregnant teen parent/pregnant teen programs, and special preschools. Eligibility guidelines are set by the state; priority for some programs is given to children referred by the Department of Children and Family Services and to low-income families. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

Preschool, full and part-day services are available to children ages two through five.

A school based teen parent/pregnant teen program is available at certain schools throughout the district. The comprehensive program supports pregnant expectant and parenting students and their children. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply; there may be a waiting list for some programs. The ECE information line refers parents to the most convenient site location. To enroll at individual school sites, parents must provide proof of income or attendance at school or vocational training. Current immunization records and a recent medical exam are required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale based on family size and income.
