Provider: FUNERAL CONSUMERS ALLIANCE OF LOS ANGELES
The society acts as a consumer cooperative which assists members and the general public to secure simple, dignified funerals, burials, and cremations at reasonable cost through agreements with local mortuaries. The society DOES NOT OFFER DIRECT FINANCIAL AID. There are no geographic restrictions.
Members may place on record instructions regarding the type of service and/or disposition of remains that they prefer so that their wishes are honored when they die. Emergency memberships, when death is imminent or has occurred, are available. The society also provides information and education regarding funeral alternatives, the living will, and durable power of attorney for health care.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call for information.
FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE The lifetime membership fee is $50 per individual. After becoming members, people make arrangements with local member mortuaries regarding funeral expenses.
