Provider: HOUSE CHILDREN'S HEARING CENTER OF UCLA

The institute provides services for people with disabilities age newborn to 21 years who have, or are suspected of having, a hearing impairment. Services include disease/disability information, audiological evaluations, hearing aid evaluations, speech/language evaluations and therapy and cochlear implant services. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.

Cochlear implants may be provided for children one year and older who experience limited success with hearing aids.

The institute conducts research related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of ear disorders in children and adults of all ages; offers training seminars and courses at the institute and at other facilities for students and professionals; and publishes literature and other educational materials for professionals and the public. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or write for information or an appointment. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Services for children are on a fee-for-service basis; some types of commerical insurance are accepted. Costs not covered by insurance are billed to the client. There are fixed fees for publications. There are no fees for the magazine or hearing education materials.
