The agency provides counseling services for court-referred individuals in Los Angeles County and in surrounding counties. Services include adult diversion, alcoholism abuse education/prevention classes, alternative sentencing/supervision, anger management, behavior modification for theft, child abuse counseling, court ordered parenting programs, domestic violence prevention, drug abuse education/prevention classes, individual counseling for a wide range of behaviors including arson, juvenile firestarter treatment programs, juvenile delinquency diversion counseling, and sex offender counseling for court-referred adults and adolescents, ages 12 and older. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency also provides animal cruelty prevention, crisis intervention, parenting classes, parenting skills, relationship and family therapy, social skills training and individual therapy for victims of violent crime. Also provided is life skills coaching and self help assistance and other modalities such as hypnosis and biofeedback, monitored visitation and therapeutic monitoring of visits.

Educational, behavior management training, short-term cognitive-behavioral therapy and therapeutic group sessions are the primary methods of treatment. Adult and juvenile diversion programs meet pre-trial diversion criteria or can be part of a plea bargain arrangement. Alternative sentencing programs are conducted for Los Angeles, and the surrounding counties. The agency specializes in theft programs for all types of theft offenses, both misdemeanor and felony offenses, including shoplifting, petty theft, grand theft, burglary, embezzlement, credit card fraud and identity theft. Online counseling is available for individuals with a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access. Pre-trial assessments and evaluations are also available.

Individual counseling for court-referred individuals includes anger management groups for all types of aggressive behaviors; and counseling for abuse of all types; inappropriate behaviors, including sexual offenses, lewd conduct, and other offensive sexual acts; vandalism, including graffiti and destruction of property; animal cruelty; and drug and alcohol dependency.

The program provides written reports of progress and completion if they are required by the court, probation department, or other referring agency. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call the Central Intake number for an appointment or information; appointments are required. Documentation includes ID and the court referral paperwork; clients requesting sliding scale fees are asked to provide proof of income. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE Fees are set on a sliding scale. The court or the probation department sets the fees for some referred clients. Fees may be reduced for economic hardship or by maintaining an excellent cooperation record.
