Federal unemployment benefit programs under the CARES Act end on September 4, 2021. This includes:

- Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA)
- Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC)
- Pandemic Additional Compensation (PAC)
- Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation (MEUC)

Federal-State Extended Duration (FED-ED) benefits will no longer be payable after September 11, 2021.

CARES Act Information:
As part of the federal CARES Act, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) program has assisted unemployed Californians who are business owners, self-employed, independent contractors, have limited work history, and others not usually eligible for regular state Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits who are out of business, or whose services are significantly impacted as a direct result of the pandemic.
