The agency provides legal services to low-income individuals whose income is at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Services include certificates/forms assistance, eviction prevention assistance, legal counseling, legal representation, small business development and strategic planning. The agency does not assist with criminal law representation. Income restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.
The agency offers legal assistance through specialized projects, self-help clinics and workshops. Services include assistance with issues related to child care, consumer fraud, housing, community economic development, public benefits and workplace rights for females. Professional assistance for non-profit organizations is also available.
The Consumer Law Project offers legal representation to low-income people for ongoing litigation matters, particularly cases involving real property fraud, home-foreclosure matters, consumer fraud, student loan problems, used car problems, collection agencies problems, and uninsured torts defense.
