The agency provides family life education for people of all ages in South Central Los Angeles. Services include English as a Second Language (ESL); family literacy programs; individual advocacy; parenting skills classes that are court approved; public awareness/education; and system advocacy. There are no geographic restrictions.

The three-year Family Literacy program has four components: three levels of English as a Second Language (ESL), parenting classes, early childhood education, and family advocacy. Family advocates assist in goal setting. Intergenerational activities are also included.

The ESL program offers beginning through intermediate levels. Parenting classes includes learning about discipline through constructive guidance, parenting leadership for Latino families, a Parent School Partnership Program that educates parents about the public school system, and literacy education in a classroom setting.

Early childhood education provides guidance and information about how to access parenting resources.

Family advocacy is available for parents with children ages birth to five, to help establish goals and evaluate results. Advocates may offer guidance, support and information and referrals to community resources. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply. For parenting skills classes and family literacy programs, registration is once a year in June. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
