Provider: SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL - SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The program provides homeless support service for men and women primarily in the Skid Row area of downtown Los Angeles. Services at the drop in center include bathroom facilities, bus fare, public access computers/tools, sack lunch/dinners and telephone facilities. There are no geographic restrictions.

Men and women have different hours for drop in services; the center is available for men on Monday through Wednesday; women receive services Thursday and seniors on Friday. Participation in group activities is encouraged; services offered include group activities such computer workshops and Internet access, reading groups, sports groups, Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings, substance abuse support group and personal skills development; rest area with television offers respite from the streets; sack lunches; and telephone facilities. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Walk in for drop-in services. Intake appointments may be available for the agency's residential program, depending on capacity; call for information. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for service.

Drop-in center hours for men are:Monday through Wednesday, 6:00am to 2:30pm. Drop in Center hours for women are: Thursday, 7:30am to 2:30pm. Hours for group activities and workshops are:Monday through Thursday, 9:00am to 2:30pm. Hours for seniors, 55 years and older are:Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm.
