Transitional Housing/Shelter ( Former Foster Children )

The agency provides a transitional housing program for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) ages 18 to 24 who live in Los Angeles County. Services include transitional housing/shelter. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency provides three programs: the Structured Independent Living Program (SILP); the Transitional Housing Program plus Foster Care for non-minor dependents; and the THP Plus for emancipated youth.

The Structured Independent Living Program (SILP) is for non-minor dependents (NMDs) who are provided with funding and a secured studio apartment located on the agency's campus.

The Transitional Housing Program plus Foster Care (THP FC) is for non-minor dependents (NMDs). The agency provides the youth with a leased apartment or find a host family to live and provide support services while they continue their pursuit of self-sufficiency.

The Transitional Housing Program Plus (THP-Plus) provides housing and services in apartment units for six males/females for a maximum of two years.

For all programs, the agency provides case management and linkage services to assist youth find jobs, enroll in school, learn independent living skills and become self-sufficient. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call the main number for information. Most referrals are through the County Department of Children's Services or Probation. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE The fee rates are set and paid by the County for all youth who meet the criteria for placement.
