The agency provides transportation services for people who have disabilities and are unable to use regular public bus and train service. Services include disability related transportation for eligible people and travel training for older adults/people with disabilities. Geographic restrictions apply.

Curb to curb group service is available through special equipped vans and taxis for medical appointments, shopping and other activities. The service area is any area 3/4 of a mile or more from a fixed bus route and 3/4 mile or more to a Metrorail station in the Los Angeles area. The agency provides advanced and subscription services.

The agency also provides information and referral service through the mobility management department, providing referrals for paratransit agencies throughout Los Angeles County. Travel training for eligible individuals is provided through a contract with Mobility Management Partners. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Application packets can be downloaded online; call for eligibility information and to get an Access ID number. Applicant must have a physical address to receive service. Eligibility is determined through an in-person transit evaluation at 528 Mateo St., Los Angeles, CA 90013; an Access ID number must be obtained before scheduling a Transit Evaluation appointment. The application must be handed in at the time of the appointment. Within 21 days after completing the Transit Evaluation, applicant will be notified by mail whether or not they are eligible.

Reservations are made through the toll-free, local and TDD customer service lines for people who have been determined ADA-eligible and who live within the service area.

Cancellations must be made 2 hours before scheduled pick-up. Three or more no-shows will result in suspension of Access Services for up to 30 days.

Call for travel training eligibility screening. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are fixed fees based on the distance of travel. Fares range as follows: 0-19.9 miles - $2.75; 20 miles - $3.50; Base fare coupons book - $27.50 each; Plus zone fare coupons book - $7.50.

Fees for the Santa Clarita Valley are as follows: Within Antelope Valley - $2.00; Antelope Valley to Los Angeles: $7.00; Antelope Valley to Santa Clarita: $7.00

There are no fees for travel training.
