Tuberculosis Screening

The center provides health services for people of all ages who live, primarily, in the East San Gabriel Valley.

Services include a general family practice which provides diagnosis, treatment, lab tests, EKG's, blood pressure checks, physical exams, and general medical care for people of all ages; pediatric services which include well baby clinics, free immunizations, school and sports physicals, and CHDP (Child Health and Disability Prevention) exams; annual exams, treatment of minor infections; tuberculosis screening; sexually transmitted diseases for both men and women; and limited pharmacy services. Health education classes are available to patients including nutrition counseling.

The clinic participates in the L A County contract clinic program. Services provided include outpatient health services for uninsured, low-income Los Angeles County residents of all ages, including General Relief recipients. It provides primary general medical care and dental care. Applicant's household income must be at or below 134% of federal poverty guidelines, or who are GR recipients.

CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.

The center provides outreach education programs in the community including family planning education, HIV prevention and STD and HIV counseling and testing, and teen pregnancy prevention.

The clinic is also a certified provider of Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP), an elective Medi-Cal funded program which provides comprehensive pre-natal care including evaluation, direct medical services; nutrition and health education; psychological counseling and social services if needed. Pregnancy testing, childbirth classes, and special groups for pregnant teens are also provided. The CPSP services are provided at two locations, West Covina and Pomona; intake is done through the Pomona Clinic. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call to apply. An appointment is required. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE The agency has set fees on a sliding scale from $20 depending on income and service. Eligible contract clinic patients pay no fees. Medi-Cal is accepted. PPO Insurances are not accepted. The clinic will work with clients who have difficulty paying.
