Veteran Employment Programs

Provider: FOOTHILL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AREA - FOOTHILL EMPLOYMENT AND TRAINING CONNECTION - AMERICA'S JOB CENTER OF CALIFORNIA

The agency provides services for veterans who have service-connected disabilities, are recently separated from the military, campaign veterans and veterans who have been honorably discharged and their eligible spouses in Los Angeles County. Services include case/care management, specialized information and referral and veteran employment programs. There are no geographic restrictions.

Veteran employment programs are administered via the Veterans Employment Assistance Program (VEAP) which provides services to assist veterans with finding and keeping employment. Services include a comprehensive assessment, vocational and on the job training, career counseling, job search and placement assistance, and interview preparation. Targeted industries include transportation, mechanics, professional business services, health services, education and construction.

Case/care management services are co-administered by the program and by EDD Veterans Program staff. The program's intent is to remove barriers such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) to employment.

Specialized information and referral connects program participants with agencies which provide services outside the scope of the program. APPLICATION PROCEDURE Call or walk in to apply. Referrals from other agencies are accepted. FEES/PAYMENT SOURCE There are no fees for services.
