Water Safety Education

The program provides first aid and safety programs for people of all ages in Los Angeles. Services include babysitting instruction, child care instruction for adolescents, CPR instruction, first aid instruction, health education, lifeguard training and water safety education. Geographic and age restrictions apply for some services.

CPR is provided at many contracted locations throughout the county, including the hands-only method.

The babysitting course provides child care instruction for young people age 11 to 15. It offers information about a variety of child care related concerns including the responsibilities of a babysitter and supervision of children, home safety and accident prevention, basic first aid, handling and diapering of infants, basic child growth and development, selection of appropriate toys and games, personal safety, and feeding of children.
