WIOA Programs ( Adults )
Provider: LOS ANGELES UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT - ABRAM FRIEDMAN OCCUPATIONAL CENTER
The center provides WIOA programs for adults who reside, primarily, in the City of Los Angeles. CalWORKs participants are also served. Services include classroom training and WIOA programs. There are no geographic restrictions.
Classroom training lasts from 10 to 20 weeks and includes Job Preparation workshops concurrent with skills training. Job skills taught include resume writing, interview techniques, and application procedures.
The occupational focus of training may be auto mechanics, banking, bookkeeping, clerical, computer operator, electronics, drafting printing, refrigerator repair, VCR repair, welding and word processing.
Support services include school supplies, registration and transportation allowance, clothing assistance and emergency food, and are distributed on an as-needed basis. Job placement and client tracking for a follow up period of six months is also provided.
