Airbnb.org and 211 LA announce disaster response partnership
211 LA and Airbnb.org have formalized a disaster response partnership to rapidly mobilize free emergency housing for people displaced by disasters across Los Angeles County. After working together throughout the January 2025 wildfires to help nearly 24,000 people access temporary housing, the organizations have signed an MOU to strengthen coordination and enable housing support within 24 hours of a disaster. Airbnb.org is also committing $100,000 in housing credits to help 211 LA provide free emergency housing throughout 2026.

211 LA has released its After Action Report on the Eaton and Palisades Fires, highlighting how community organizations filled critical gaps in evacuation, housing, and recovery when official systems faltered. The report underscores that building wildfire resilience requires not only stronger alerts and protocols, but also investment in the trusted community infrastructure that helps residents survive and recover.

New Data Sheds Light on the Needs of LA Wildfire Survivors
211 LA has released new information on the county’s LA wildfire recovery efforts. The Wildfire Care Coordination Program Data Dashboard, which represents extensive, real-time post-fire recovery data shared by impacted households with 211 LA’s Care Coordination team, provides a snapshot into the ongoing needs of fire survivors.
Airbnb.org has housed 17,000+ people displaced by Los Angeles fires
Earlier this month, Airbnb.org, a nonprofit founded by Airbnb, partnered with 211 LA to provide free emergency housing for people displaced by the fires. Within 48 hours of launching, 211 LA received more than ten thousand applications from Angelenos.
Affected by the Wildfires in LA County?
211 LA’s Care Coordination Program offers comprehensive support for disaster recovery, housing navigation, advocacy, and referrals to other services. This service is free of charge to impacted households and individuals.
Individuals who have not yet applied for care coordination can sign up online.
