The Battalion provides fire and rescue services and safe haven services for unincorporated Los Angeles County and for cities in the County which contract with it, including forest areas. Services include disaster services and fire protection. Battalion 13 provides primary services in Cudahy, Huntington Park, Lynwood, and South Gate, and in the unincorporated areas of Florence, Walnut Park, and Willowbrook; it may also coordinate services with any of the county's other 21 Battalions.
