2023-2024 WINTER SHELTER PROGRAM
Are you in need of a Winter Shelter?
The Winter Shelter Program is held annually to protect people experiencing homelessness during Los Angeles's colder months. Winter Shelters are located all across the County and will operate 24 hours a day this year due to COVID‑19.

Augmented Winter Shelter (AWS)
The winter shelter program has ended. Winter shelters and motel vouchers are NO longer available.
If you are in need of shelter, you may still contact the coordinated entry system hubs to check for shelter availability through those agencies. Click here for contact information.
Population Served (Eligibility): Single adult individuals 18 years or older and transitional youth between 18-24 years.
What 211 Can Do:
- Connect unhoused individuals to the nearest shelter.
- Connect unhoused individuals to the nearest AWS Motel.
- Provide transportation to the AWS Motel.
What to Expect at the Shelter:
- Shelters will follow new “Safer at Home” guidelines to keep everyone healthy and safe indoors. This includes daily temperature checks and staff conducting a COVID-19 screening questionnaire.
- Shelters welcome pets and emotional support animals.
- Shelters serve three meals a day.

ACCESSING A SHELTER
1. FIND A SHELTER
Use the list of shelter locations provided and pick one close to you.
2. CALL TO CHECK AVAILABILITY
All shelters require you to call first before coming. Dial 2-1-1 to be referred to a shelter closest to you, or call 1-800-548-6047 for faster service.
3. PACK YOUR BAGS
All shelters have a two (2) bag restriction. Anything more will not be allowed on the site.
4. FIND TRANSPORT
Transportation is limited - refer to the list of sites that offer transportation.
