Connecting LA to Housing Solutions

The Los Angeles County Coordinated Entry System (CES) is the network that aligns homeless services in the County together to ensure that resources are efficiently and equitably distributed to support people experiencing homelessness.

Los Angeles County's participating Coordinated Entry System network agencies are Valley Oasis, LA Family Housing, Village Family Services, Union Station Homeless Services, Hathaway Sycamore, The People Concern, PATH, LA LGBT Center,  St. Joseph Center, Safe Place for Youth, SSG HOPICS,  Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD), The Whole Child, Jovenes, Inc., Harbor Interfaith, and 211 LA.

Who does CES Serve?

  • Adults (age 18+)
  • Families (household with a child under age 18)
  • Youth (age 18-24)

CES has programs that are tailored for people experiencing homelessness from each of these household types. Not all programs in CES will be available for each age group. For example, some programs may be accessible to Adults only.

In addition to these, there are programs that provide services for specific groups, such as those who are fleeing domestic violence and those who identify as U.S. Armed Forces Veterans. If you fall under one of these specialized groups, consider visiting the Get Help page to get in contact with a program.

2-1-1's Role in Coordinated Entry System for Families (CESF)

211 LA's role in the Coordinated Entry System for Families (CES-F) program is to pre-screen homeless and at-risk families and provides a  warm transfer to Family Solutions Centers (FSC) within their community during daytime hours.  Callers are connected to this program service through the 2-1-1 information hotline. Once connected, 211 LA attempts to connect homeless families to a CES-F Family Solutions Center unless they are CalWORKS families. We provide a crisis housing motel voucher and any other resource referrals they may need. After regular business hours, 211 LA can provide crisis housing motel vouchers and transportation to motel locations for any eligible family (dependent on motel capacity/availability).  Learn more about 211 LA's CESF Program Here.
