Medication Assisted Maintenance Treatment for Substance Use Disorders

The agency provides substance use disorder services for adults, age 18 and older, and adolescents, age 13 to 17, in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas. Services include adult diversion for alcoholism and drug use disorders; Proposition 36 court-referred individuals; central intake/assessment for alcohol and drug use disorders for adolescents, age 12 to 20; clinical trials for substance use disorder issues; comprehensive outpatient alcohol use disorder treatment for adults; comprehensive outpatient drug use disorder treatment for adults; and a methadone maintenance program for court referred individuals.

The agency offers intensive outpatient programs for adults and adolescents who have insurance or can pay for service. The program serves people who receive Medi-Cal only at the Inland Empire location. There are no geographic restrictions for most programs; however, the outpatient program in the Inland Empire is primarily for San Bernardino County residents, but will take clients from the eastern portion of Los Angeles county such as the Pomona Valley.

The Matrix treatment model is an intensive comprehensive outpatient program that includes education, peer support, 12-Step recovery groups, family counseling and involvement, relapse prevention groups and activities, substance abuse testing, and a consistent ongoing relationship with an assigned counselor. The program is individualized and highly structured.

The program also provides outpatient methadone maintenance services, and Proposition 36 diversion program. Prop 36 clients are treated in a similar program as the agency's intensive outpatient model.

The agency conducts research studies that include treatment as well as clinical trials of medications and therapies. People may inquire about studies and may be selected to participate.
