1. Reflection Questions

Why is it important to uplift the voices and perspectives of folks who are often erased?

Were there perspectives in the video that you could relate to? In which ways are the stories of Pacific Islanders familiar to you? In which ways are they different?

2. Take Action

Build Coalitions. There are often multiple groups of people that are impacted by unfair policy, action or dominant group. Joining with other people or groups that experience negative experiences or outcomes can help strengthen the power of a movement and build meaningful relationships between diverse community members.

The Future Coalition is a national network of youth activists that fosters community and collaboration among youth leaders and youth-led organizations. Check out the resources and skill-building opportunities they provide to help be a part of the coalitions that matter most to you.

3. Healing + Resilience

Mindfulness practice. Mindfulness and mediation practices are a diverse set of tools that can adapted and adjusted to each person’s need and experience levels. Teen Vogue tested 8 meditation apps that you can download and try out for free.
