Alternative Education

The program provides education services for pregnant and parenting teenagers. Services include alternative education and school based teen parent/pregnant teen programs. Services are restricted to residents of the ABC Unified School District or students who obtain a permit.

The program provides educational classes and support services for pregnant teenagers and teen parents which can enable them to earn a high school diploma. Services include parenting classes, prenatal health classes, a prepared childbirth class, and academic courses.

The Infant Center provides child care for students' children, ages 2 months to 3 years, and for others in the community. To be eligible for the child care services students must be enrolled in school for at least 6 1/2 hours per day. School bus transportation is provided for students. Other support services include hot lunches, ESL classes, Healthy Start program, access to GAIN and CAL LEARN programs.
