Job Corps

The agency provides job training for at risk youth ages 16 to 24 who live in the cities of Artesia, Bell, Bellflower, Bell Gardens, Carson, Cypress, Diamond Bar, Dominguez, Downey, Glendora, Harbor City, Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood, Montebello, Norwalk, Paramount, Pico Rivera, Rowland Heights, San Pedro, Santa Fe Springs, South Gate, Whittier, and Wilmington. Services include academic and career technical training. This is primarily a residential program, however, non-residence are also eligible to enroll. There are geographic restrictions.

The program provides academic, vocational and life skills training. Academic instruction is provided and a high school diploma can be obtained. The length of training varies and individuals may stay as long as two years. Career technical training is available in a variety of occupations including automotive repair, business construction technology, cement masonry, certified nurse assistant, clinical medical assistant, glazing, industrial painting, medical administrative assistant, and pharmacy technician. The program also provides job placement assistance and follow-up to graduates.
