Specialized Information and Referral

Provider: UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS - VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION - LOS ANGELES REGIONAL OFFICE

The agency administers federal health benefits programs and services for veterans, their dependents, and their survivors. Services include information and referral for disability services, military health insurance, and a veterans health care network of clinics and hospitals. Advocacy is also provided to help veterans obtain benefits to which they are entitled. There are no geographic restrictions.

Support for caregivers includes a monthly stipend for caregivers of veterans who were injured post 9/11/2001. Support for caregivers also includes training, counseling, support and respite services. The veteran must be registered through the VA in order for the caregiver to receive any of these services. Referrals for respite workers will be made by the primary care team.
