This department provides recreational programs for the City of Pasadena and surrounding areas. Services include parks/recreation areas and recreational activities/sports.

The programs are offered through the city's community centers and other city recreation areas and/or Pasadena Unified School District facilities. Recreation programs include adaptive recreation programs, adult and youth sports, afterschool playgrounds, day camps, and a variety of special events.

The Recreation Centers Division administers two community centers, the Jackie Robinson Center and Villa-Parke (see the separate entries); two recreation centers, Robinson Park and Victory Park; and neighborhood parks: Jefferson, La Pintoresca, and Washington. Community center programs include advocacy and services for older adults, emergency assistance and immigration information. Recreation center programs include education services, nutrition, recreation activities, sports and a Teen Program. Neighborhood parks provide recreational programs, sports, holiday programs and family-oriented activities.
