Veteran Employment Programs

The agency provides employment services for unemployed or underemployed individuals in Los Angeles. Services include comprehensive job assistance centers, veteran employment programs, and Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs for adults, dislocated workers, veterans, the homeless, and the re-entry population. There are no geographic restrictions.

Participants may be assisted with job training, resume building and interview skill preparation, employment referrals, job matching and career guidance. The center provides skills workshops, and access to phones and computers.

More intensive services are available for adults who were not able to secure employment and are unemployed or underemployed, including special populations such as people with disabilities, migrant and seasonal workers and older adults; dislocated workers, including displaced homemakers; and veterans.

Counseling and case management, development of an Individual Readjustment Plan, and job readiness workshops are provided to all clients.

The Veterans Initiative program (VIP) provides personalized career consultation and planning to help vets secure employment through community partners. Education opportunities and job training are also available.

Secondary support services such as transportation allowance and child care expenses are provided on a case-by-case basis.
