The agency provides early childhood education for children ages birth through kindergarten, and their parents, in the East San Gabriel Valley. Services include early art therapy, childhood education, early intervention for children with disabilities/delays, educational testing, extended day care, inclusive preschools, infant care centers, kindergartens, life skills education, parent counseling, parenting skills classes, parent support groups, toys/toy loan, and transition services for students with disabilities. Age restrictions apply; services are restricted to families living in the East San Gabriel Valley.
Services are provided for children with or without special needs and their families. Special needs may include premature birth, prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol, early medical conditions, developmental delays, spectrum disorders including autism, hyperactivity, eating and sleeping disorders, problems interacting with peers, and language delays.
Staff work with parents to help them understand and cope with the individual requirements of their children. Before and after school hours are available for working families; all children receive breakfast, lunch and a snack. Parents are encouraged to participate on the Parent Advisory Committee and in Special Needs Parent groups, and may assist with various special projects.
Services for parents include classes on life skills include money management, job preparation, stress management, nutrition, community service resources, and recreational opportunities.
