Nonpublic Special Schools

Provider: HAYNES FAMILY OF PROGRAMS

The agency provides education services for at risk youth, age 7 to 18, in the Los Angeles area. Services include a nonpublic school, which provides elementary and secondary education services for referred youth. The school serves students not able to attend regular or special education classes in local school districts. Student/teacher ratio is 4:1. Teachers are credentialed and provide a highly structured environment. The staff work closely with the residential clinical program to facilitate achievement of both academic and behavioral goals, and to transition to regular school district programs whenever possible. Community referrals are accepted.

In addition to the regular Non-Public School, the school provides services to autistic children through the Leroy Haynes Center School of Autism. The school specializes in educational services and treatments for all children on the "spectrum". The educational program includes individualized curriculum based on student needs, behavioral therapy, social, communication and functional skills, sensory programs, community based instructions, monthly parent training by licensed professionals and more.
