Mature Driver Training

Provider: AARP - LOS ANGELES COUNTY OFFICE

The agency targets services for people, age 50 or older, who are retired or still employed who live in Los Angeles County. Services are also available for people 18 and over, some restrictions apply. Services include automobile insurance, mature driver training, pharmacies, and tax information. There are no geographic restrictions.

Membership in the AARP is required to receive most services. Individuals must be AARP members to enroll in the reduced rate automobile and insurance programs.

Driver Safety Program offerings include a classroom course, administered by a network of trained volunteers, and an Online Course, available in both English and Spanish. The classroom course takes place at various host sites throughout Los Angeles, including libraries, hospitals, senior centers, churches, and recreational facilities.

The pharmacy service offers medical prescriptions and health care at a reduced rate for seniors age 50 and older who live in Los Angeles County.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is available free to taxpayers with low and moderate income, with special attention to those 60 and older. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is offered in cooperation with the IRS.
