CARES Act, State Medicaid Programs are able to provide access to coverage of COVID-19 diagnostic testing and testing-related services to individuals in need of such testing at no cost to the individual
COVID-19 testing, evaluation and treatment services are being deemed emergency services under Medi-Cal. Deeming COVID-19 testing and related treatment as emergency services will entitle all Medi-Cal beneficiaries, regardless of their scope of coverage under Medi-Cal or their documentation status, to receive all medically necessary inpatient or outpatient services related to a COVID-19 diagnosis.
