Head Start Sites

This is a delegate agency for the Head Start/State Preschool Program. It administers the funding for and coordinates the services provided by the head start locations within its jurisdiction. It provides information about the Head Start/State Preschool program for interested parties and refers callers who wish to enroll their three or four year old children at the appropriate site. The program is targeted, but not restricted, to children with special needs. To be eligible, the child must be 3 to 4 years old; the family must meet income guidelines; and the family must live within the El Monte City School District.

Children can be placed on a waiting list when they are two years old.
