The program provides employment services for students who are CalWORKs or WIOA eligible. There are income restrictions for some programs; there are no geographic restrictions.
Job training is provided in accounting clerk skills, computer skills, general clerical skills, and medical front office skills. The duration of the program is 18 to 30 weeks. All participants in the program receive job placement services upon completion. Employers who list positions with the college do so at no cost. Applicants are tested to evaluate their math and reading skills and are placed in the learning lab or one of the training programs based on skills level.
Employment programs for CalWORKs eligible students, include prejob guidance, job training and work study programs for TANF recipients.
The program provides case management, educational assessment, educational and career planning, a broad range of training and vocational education programs and job development and placement services. The campus has strong support from local business and industry.
Support services also include on-site child care, health and psychological support services, and referrals to community services.
