School to Adult Life Transition Services

Provider: MARIANNE FROSTIG CENTER OF EDUCATIONAL THERAPY

This is a multidisciplinary center for children who have learning disabilities and live in the greater Los Angeles area. Services include disease/disability information, private special day schools, research, and school to adult life transition services. The center serves students in kindergarten through 12th grade with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, as well as ADHD, and High Functioning Autism (HFA). There are no geographic restrictions.

Programs include teacher training; and consultation and research.

Community outreach services include consultation services, small group educational workshops and a summer institute program.

The day school program provides clinical, speech and language therapy, assistive technology and other support services to children in kindergarten through 12th grades. The school's high school transitional program is designed to help prepare students for post secondary or vocational success. General information is available to the community and to professional agencies by the Research Department. The center conducts ongoing research on the causes and treatment of learning disabilities and best practices for teaching children with learning disabilities.
